Histopathology & Electron Microscopy Electron Microscopy Unit
The Electron Microscopy Unit is an advanced instrumentation laboratory of the Medical Sciences Campus. This unit maintains and operates electron microscope facilities for the faculty, investigators and students of the Medical sciences Campus for diagnosis and research.
Facilities
The unit, located in the basement of the main Medical Sciences Campus building, occupies an area of appoximately 2,000 square feet and consists of two specimen preparation laboratories, two electron microscope suites, a fully equipped darkroom, a microtomy room, and two offices. The processing laboratory contains all the ancillary instruments and equipment required to process samples for transmission electron microscopy. The microtomy laboratory contains six cubicles, each of which houses an ultramicrotome; some of the cubicles are also equipped with a compound microscope for examination of thick sections.
